Dear SAOT Doctoral Candidates,
With this we invite you to actively participate in an event organized by the Centre for Doctoral Training in Sensor Technologies & Applications at the University of Cambridge, namely the Sensors Day 2020 taking place October 15-16, 2020 – the event website will go online soon.
This year, the event focuses on
• Environmental sustainability
• Environmental sensing
• COVID-19 pandemic and sustainability
The Centre is funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, and the fields of research have quite some overlap with SAOT. The Centre’s director is Prof. Clemens Kaminski, the first recipient of the SAOT Young Researcher Award.
In order to foster collaboration with this centre and to enable direct communication between SAOT Doctoral Candidates and PhD students from Cambridge, we would like to invite you to submit abstracts for flash talks!
The student talks will be held during the first day of the event and will be approximately 10 minutes each, followed by a brief Q&A.
If you are interest to attend, please send your abstract using the template attached to firstname.lastname@example.org
You will then receive feedback if your contribution has been accepted along with further instructions. Please pay particular attention to the thematic overlap between your contribution and the topic of the event.
Participation in the events will count as an SAOT workshop (1 CP). In case you present a talk, three additional CPs can be earned (as a workshop for a topic you can choose freely, or as an international conference).
We are looking forward to many contributions!
