In their recent publication, Markus Labus and Peter Lang present “A versatile fibre-based setup for two-line atomic fluorescence thermometry in aerosol processes.  They implemented a new kind of hexagonal close-packed burner for high precision temperature measurements of combustion processes.

By splitting the setup into a mobile fiber-connected sensor head and a separate laser unit, even systems with limited optical access can be examined.

Markus and Peter work at the Institute of Engineering Thermodynamics (LTT) with Stefan Will. The original publication can be found in the Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer.
