Advanced optical techniques and methodologies used in the field of combustion: on September 23rd and 24th, our 35th SAOT Workshop – Combustion Diagnostics took place at the Fraunhofer IISB Institute in Erlangen.

International experts presented the latest diagnostic developments and applications essential for the analysis and optimization of different combustion process steps. A key focus was on laser-based diagnostics, which have become indispensable in providing non-intrusive, highly accurate measurements of various combustion parameters. These cover methods such as Laser-Induced Fluorescence (LIF), Raman and Rayleigh scattering, Coherent Anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS), Absorption Spectroscopy, Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) and even some X-ray techniques.

Thank you again to our invited speakers, namely Edouard Berrocal, Isaac Boxx, Chloe Dedic, Pascale Desgroux, Andreas Dreizler, Samuel Grauer, Gaetano Magnotti, patrizia Minutolo, Gregory Rieker, Alexey Sepman, and Lars Zigan.

In addition, the participants enjoyed a guided city tour in Nuremberg.
