Some of the external partners are providing additional support by scholarships, through internships for the graduates or by the direct involvement of leading scientists as instructors. Directly involved as part of the Graduate School is the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light (MPL). Due to the application orientated education and research program of SAOT, cooperation between the Graduate School and non-university institutions forms one of the main tools for the success of the activities. The training and research within all modules of the main topics will result in close contact with several institutes and industrial partners in the field, e.g., with the Fraunhofer Institute of Integrated Systems and Device Technology (IISB) and the Bavarian Laser Centre (BLZ).
