Every year, the PRISM Summer School brings together doctoral candidates and researchers from SAOT and PMI at Princeton University. Early June marked the return of this event: early-career researchers from both institutions met at Princeton University to exchange scientific ideas and forge new connections.
As always, the program was diverse and engaging. In addition to presenting their own research, participants took part in interdisciplinary workshops, lab tours, and discussions on current challenges in optics, photonics, and materials research.
Of course, informal exchange and networking were also a key part of the experience – a group kayaking trip made the time in Princeton truly memorable.
I am taking away from this week not only new scientific contacts and valuable experiences but also numerous ideas that I can incorporate into my future research at the Bavarian Laser Center and FAU. The summer school has once again demonstrated the importance of international collaboration for scientific progress and personal development.
